Faridabad, 15 february (Naveen Gupta):  Manufacturing sector should take steps for ZED Certification to fulfill the dreams of Make in India as envisaged by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on 15th August 2015 – said Mr. J.P. Malhotra, President Haryana State Productivity Council. In his welcome address today at the Industry Level ZED Awareness Meeting organized in association with All India Management Association and DLF Industries Association, Mr. Malhotra gave brief outlines of ZED Certification Scheme and urged the participants to contribute their efforts and energy to Make in India by making World Class Products feasible and facilitated by ZED “Zero Defect Zero Effect”.

Mr. Arun Kapoor, Dy. Director All India Management Association conducted the Seminar, elaborated simple steps to be taken by MSMEs to obtain ZED marking. Govt. of India through Quality Council of India has subsidised the cost of ZED Certification to the extent of 80% for Micro, 60% for Small and 50% for Medium Industries as defined by MSME DI Act 2016. FAQs frequently asked questions were suitably dealt with and the session was very participative.

Interesting aspect of the Scheme is Rs. 491 Cr. Budget allocation for the 5 Year Plan with a target of 22222 MSME s annually. QCI is the nodal agency for diligent implementation of the Scheme and allocate trained consultants. The total process is ONLINE and subsidy to MSMEs will be by Direct Bank Transfer.

Mr. Sanjay Wadhawan, Imm. Past President HSIIDC Sector 31 Industry Association said that process improvement is essential to make World Class products and there is no scope for omission of Quality Standards. Mr. Vijay Raghavan, Gen. Secretary DLF advised the participants to adopt ZED which will be helpful for marketing in domestic market.

Mr. A.K. Gour of BYST, an exporter himself proposed Vote of Thanks. He suggested that    Govt. of India should propagate acceptance of ZED Marking in International Markets. This is the first time a training and awareness Seminar has been orgainsed by HSPC/DLF on this subject which is commendable.

Mr. J.P. Malhotra, President HSPC gave the outlines of National Productivity Week Celebrations from 12th – 18th February 2017.
