With an intent to foster and nurture the love of reading among the students, Modern Delhi Public School organized an overnight camp on 28th and 29th November, 2015 with a theme ‘The Reading Retreat.’
The camp was an initiative by the school to make the children understand the importance of books and the need of developing book reading habit. “When you open a book, you open a new world.” Keeping this in mind, the camp had activities to inculcate the valuable habit of reading and divert children back to the fun filled and informative world of books.
The children were inspired and motivated to treat books as their friends and companions.
The camp was flagged off by Director Principal Mr. U.S. Verma and proceeded with many recreational activities including creative work, fun and games, educational videos and many performances like skits, dances and songs, all focussed on the theme. Children enjoyed their experience under the loving care and supervision of teachers. on 29th November, there was a presentation to showcase the glimpses for the parents who showed great satisfaction at the confidence and independence of their wards and appreciated the efforts of the school to make their wards socially responsible and independent.
In its entirety, it proved to be a camp full of fun and learning which culminated with the prize distribution ceremony and vote of thanks by two young students of class IV, who expressed their gratitude to teachers and parents on behalf of their peers.
