Faridabad/Kochi, 31 August: The unprecedented floods in Kerala have caused large scale damage and destruction. As the flood water recedes, the process of re-building of public infrastructure such as Roads, Power, Schools and Hospitals has commenced. An estimated 1,00,000 buildings and over 10,000 km of roads and bridges have been damaged in the floods.

JCB India is a leading manufacturer of Earthmoving and Construction Equipment in India. It has been contributing to building urban and rural infrastructure in India for nearly four decades. JCB machines have always been at the forefront of partnering with local communities and the administration to rescue and re-build after or during any natural calamity.

In keeping with its ethos, JCB India has deployed 30 Earth moving and Construction machines to support the re-building of the severely affected areas in Kerala.

The machines deployed include Backhoe loaders, Excavators and Skid Steers. These machines can be used to carry out a number of tasks such as cleaning of debris, excavation, lifting, dozing and road construction, among others. The machines would facilitate faster completion of work and would be deployed for a period of two months.
